The Montana Log Home Plan Photo Series

This is a collection of pictures of the Montana Plan. The Montana is our flagship cabin, which has been featured on the header of our website for many years. Some of these photos were taken during construction, some after it was completed, and additional ones from 15 years after it was built. This home is in the Shining Mountains Subdivision, Ennis, Montana.

The wall logs are an 8×8 round logs with a double tongue and groove stack. The corners are saddle notched. Handcrafted logs were used for the ridge beams, purlins, log floor joists, support posts, log girder beam supporting the loft, header beam and support posts on the porch, and log rafters on the covered porch.

This home is a hybrid exhibiting milled logs for the exterior walls and handcrafted logs for the rest. All the log railing and interior staircase is also handcrafted log. The interior walls are all covered with 1×8 western red cedar tongue and groove. The flooring is all circle saw pattern wood flooring. The fireplace is framed and covered with cultured river rock stone. The fireplace is a zero-clearnace wood-burning insert.

Any projected costs, cost estimates, material costs, and estimated construction/ building costs, are only the opinion of Cowboy Log Homes and are drawn from our experience. Every home is custom tailored to meet our individual client's wants and desires. The construction of a log or timber home is based on two primary costs: material provided by the log home company and construction costs contracted with Cowboy Log Homes as the builder or another builder of the customer's choice. Final costs are obtained and contracted with each respectively. Cowboy Log Homes is simply the "glue" that helps bring these two together to provide a final culmination of a customer's project. * Please note photos and elevations may differ some from accompanying floor plans.
