The Woodcrafter Series is a suitable option for homeowners or builders who enjoy woodworking and have more time to devote to the building. Our random-length packages come with longer logs on average than many companies provide, which translates into fewer end-joints (where one log ends and the next begins) within the walls. Random length log packages typically come with a few bunks of 8-foot to 12-foot long  — but heavy towards the 13 to 16-foot long logs AND another bunk of 17-foot to 20-foot long (per truck load).

Our Woodcrafter Series log shell package (basically) comes with random-length wall logs, a log or timer roof system (as per plan), log or timber floor joists (as per plan), log or timber support posts (as per plan), log or timber header beam and support posts for covered porches (as per plan), log siding for exterior of dormers (as per plan), log wall assembly materials, construction drawings, and delivery within 1,000 miles of Belgrade, Montana.  All wall logs, log or timber floor joists, log or timber support posts, log or timber header beams, etc. must be cut to length and notched on site.

The Woodcrafter Series is available in D-log, Round Tongue and Groove Stack, or Flat/Flat (Appalachian Style) with Dovetail Corners. The D-log comes in 6×8 OR 8×8 Logs. The D-log provides a rounded surface on the exterior of the log home and a flat surface on the interior. We pair the D-log with Square Timbers for the other members. This diagram details the standard log package inclusions for the D-log packages. *Square timbers can be switched for Round Log for the ridge, support posts, girder beam, porch support posts and header beam, and floor joist upon request. Please call for details and pricing.

The Round logs come in 8″ diameter and are milled with a tongue and groove pattern. This style must be saddle notched to stack properly so the saddle notching is included in the Woodcrafter Round Log Pricing. The logs are still random length and are cut to length by the builder/owner on site.

Cowboy Log Homes

Any projected costs, cost estimates, material costs, and estimated construction/ building costs, are only the opinion of Cowboy Log Homes and are drawn from our experience. Every home is custom tailored to meet our individual client's wants and desires. The construction of a log or timber home is based on two primary costs: material provided by the log home company and construction costs contracted with Cowboy Log Homes as the builder or another builder of the customer's choice. Final costs are obtained and contracted with each respectively. Cowboy Log Homes is simply the "glue" that helps bring these two together to provide a final culmination of a customer's project. * Please note photos and elevations may differ some from accompanying floor plans.
