Honestly, if you are searching for big luxury log home floor plans, you may need to stop, and instead turn and look within yourself. The individuality of a log home design echoes through your mind, and no one else. Seeing some home photos can be useful but your dreams need to come alive if you are investing in a large log home.

Big luxury log home plans usually include some elements, so let’s discuss these as we look towards assimilating characteristics you may desire in your own log home.

Wide Great Room

A wide great room allows for larger gatherings, a place to put more than just a soft and a chair, and act as the center hub of the first floor of the log home. To enhance a great room you might consider adding a fireplace coming up through the center instead of along the wall of the home. The central fireplace acts as a natural barrier within the open space and provides a little more organization to a loose and flowing room of the home.

Prow Front

Do you have a view to die for? You should if a luxury log home is going to be part of your investments.  When you want the view from outside to become part of the home, consider adding a prow front to the home. Not a narrow steep angled addition to the front or view side, but a sweeping wide prow that encompasses the entire width of the great room and extends out at about 8 or 10 feet.

Unique Log Staircase

Log staircases can come in may different configurations, from a spiral, curved, or multiple landing affair. Staircases link the floors together, but they also provide a great aura of the home itself. Hand peeled log railing, or another type with lots of character can also lend much to the staircase.

Log Gazebo Rooms

I write about log octagonal rooms often. I think they are some of the most unique features to add to a log home. Take away the plain and give me something to make my mouth water!

Wide Covered Porches

Where would luxury log homes be without wide porches. Covered porches serve two purposes, or maybe even three. The first is they help to protect the logs from getting as much exposure to the elements. Second, porches provide a gorgeous addition to the exterior of the home. And three, porches provide a perfect place to spend those long evenings.

Big luxury log home plans need to be made by the person or people who desire to live there. Each is so individual that many elements go into making the perfect log home plan for YOU– and YOU is who matters the most when planning.

Cowboy Log Homes

Any projected costs, cost estimates, material costs, and estimated construction/ building costs, are only the opinion of Cowboy Log Homes and are drawn from our experience. Every home is custom tailored to meet our individual client's wants and desires. The construction of a log or timber home is based on two primary costs: material provided by the log home company and construction costs contracted with Cowboy Log Homes as the builder or another builder of the customer's choice. Final costs are obtained and contracted with each respectively. Cowboy Log Homes is simply the "glue" that helps bring these two together to provide a final culmination of a customer's project. * Please note photos and elevations may differ some from accompanying floor plans.
