This is an inside view of the log turret (gazebo) on the end of the living room in theNewell Plan. Douglas Fir is the wood species of choice for utmost strength. Post and beam construction is the most common for turrets. The round logs culminate at the top with 1×6 pine tongue and groove showing on the ceiling.
