This photo is of the gable end of the Melody Ranch. Many times our handcrafted post and beam construction will be used in conjunction with the handcrafted log homes. As seen here, the stacked logs are used to a total wall height of about 10 feet and then post and beams are used between the trapezoid windows. Less space is required between the windows when post and beams are utilized instead of stacked logs. Also over all the home experiences less shrinkage when the tops of the gable ends are framed or done in post and beam. Cowboy Log Homes
