This photo is of the Hunter post and beam plan open loft. The steep pitch of the roof is due to the fact that there is no dormers in this loft. This loft is almost 400 square feet. It also has a private covered balcony. Many people do not want living space on the second level of the home but they still desire the look of an open loft. Without an open loft this home would have either unused cathedral ceiling space or the roof line would have been built much lower.
