Mortise and Tenon Joinery

This photo shows an up close look at the mortise joint. The round peg extends from the post and inserts into the receiving beam. This is traditional timber framing at its best. Also the post is grooved to accept the standard framing material. The number denoting this timbers placement in the superstructure is marked in blue on the end of the post. This is the same joinery used for our round post and beam homes. Cowboy Log Homes
