Shown below are three of our log home species. In several photos we point out what type of log species the handcrafted log home is constructed from. Here is a close up shot of the three types that most frequently used for our handcraft homes. The top left log is Western Red Cedar. Notice the deep red hue. The top right is Douglas Fir. This species of fir has a pinkish brown with blond colored sapwood. Englemann Spruce, shown in the middle front, is a very white colored, or blond, log. Western Red Cedar is one of the most sought after of species. Douglas Fir is one of the heaviest and strongest of lumber. Englemann Spruce logs are very straight and also very abundant.
