This is another ledge cut on a handcrafted log home shell. Notice the flat area around the outside of the window. This shows that the logs are already shaped to receive the finish materials including the window and exterior trim. Also the groove for the 2×4 window spleen is marked in pencil, but has not been cut yet. This photo also displays a second floor log  joist woven into the exterior wall. The log species is Englmann Spruce, evident from the very white color to the logs. Cowboy Log Homes
