This is a diamond cut handcrafted log home corner. Diamond cut notching pattern for the corners are made by cutting both the tops of the logs and the bottoms to form the corner. Also shown on right of photo is the recessed window opening. Ledge cuts were used to recess the opening. Also the channel for the 2×4 spleen is visible vertically in the window space. This prevents the window from being damaged when the logs settle. On the left hand of the photo part of the custom cut arch opening is visible. The log species is Western Red Cedar, evident from the rich red color in the logs. Cowboy Log Homes
