Hand Work To Log Homes

This photo shows another log in the process of being turned into something lovely. This is a 12 inch log for a Swedish Cope log home that was placed in the lathe. The lathe shaves away excess log in order to produce a consistent diameter down the length of the log. The lathe leaves chatter marks on the logs so the planner is being used here to remove the circular marks. Anyone can build a ‘log home’ but it takes hours and hours of specialty work to produce a truly handcrafted log home. Cowboy Log Homes
